The next date for consignment will be February 1, we will be accepting GIRLS AND BOYS SPRING CLOTHING AND SHOES

( onesies, pajamas, l/s shirts, pants, hoodies, cardigans, leggings, light jackets - clothing can be lightly lined but in brighter colours and spring motifs )

RAIN GEAR :  rain jackets,muddy buddies, rain boots, fleece infant suits, padraigs.

We will NOT be accepting any winter or summer items at this time.

we will NOT look through garbage bags or more than ONE box,container,laundry basket ( and not larger than average ) and will accept aprox 25 items per person.

Did you know ...

that De Dutch pannekoeken house on 2nd ave has a large play area for children ?

For Easter, I took Estevan to his favourite breakfast in a new location 

and noticed the play area. 

The separate family room is so big, I am sure you could fit 25 people there.

Why don't more restaurants cater to families ? 

I hear customers talk about it all the time

so I thought I should spread the word.

The next time the mamas and papas want to go out for a bit with

the little ones, perhaps you should check it out.

Beansprouts 11th birthday !

Beansprouts is celebrating it's 11th birthday. We are so pleased to still be a part of this amazing community - Main Street. It has been through many changes, but still remains the street that people love to show their support for. Support for all those that made it what it is today, to bring the community together, to support those that create,work and live here. To support the small businesses, schools and organizations. To support each other.


Through the years we have made many friends in our little shop and in the community. And have seen many other new parents, like myself, start businesses from the growth, changes and learning that came from having children.  Like Beansprouts, Bamboletta Dolls began in 2003 near Main street. Recently we received a special gift from Bamboletta - "Finn" our new baby that will be helping parents test baby carriers at Beansprouts. Even through all the little changes, I feel as though things have come full circle. It is a warm and comfortable feeling. The same feeling I always strive to achieve at Beansprouts. 

So to celebrate our 11th birthday it seems quite fitting that we share the warmth and love. We have created a survey that we would love for you to fill out. We would love to hear your thoughts on our shop and any ways in which we could improve to serve you and the community better. Nostalgic designs by Miou Kids

Like most holidays, 
Easter reminds me 
of my grandmothers.
Backyard hunts, decorating eggs ( the old fashioned way when you blow out the egg through a little hole ) , 
baking cookies, colouring contests, decorating baskets, eating chocolate,
running from my uncle in the grass,
sun breaking through the clouds, 
cherry blossoms in the trees. Nolstalgic.

MIOU KIDS has created a new Spring cotton collection and these knits and crochets are most certainly nostalgic. Classic pieces in classic romantic colours.

Bottleblond Jewels, with love from Beansprouts

 i love finding that one new item that makes me want to jump for joy and i know right away that it's a quintessential "Beansprouts items" one of my favourites from 2013 is definitely the charming designs from Bottleblond Jewels. All of their pieces are hand made in California and thoughtfully put together. From the little clasp details to the packaging. Each piece is so special. I love the flowers that are hand poured using vintage molds, somehow it reminds me of my childhood.

Everyone's favourites seemed to be the numbered birthday necklaces and the bottle hair clips, so we have ordered a new shipment that will be here just in time for Valentines day and any special birthdays you may have coming up.

Fall crafting

Mamas are getting crafty and creative this time of year, and we love it ! we will miss you

Today we got the news that our

neighbour at Luxmi's corner store

had passed away.

For the past nine years we have been borrowing tools

from each other, watching each other's shops, asking 

each other for change and well, being good neighbours.

When I think of him I will always remember his smile, his jokes 

and the tricks he would always play on us.

Estevan will miss his trips to get candies and freezies,

 ( maybe not how you would sneak up on him and make him jump. lol )

Kumar, I will always remember the advice you would give me

about family and how to raise a good boy.

Our days at Beansprouts will not be the same without you.

Rest in peace our friend.
